The Gucci velvet Marmont bag was associated with creative director Alessandro Michele, who departed the brand in November 2022. As a result of this creative change, the velvet version of the bag has been discontinued. Although the Marmont line still exists the Gucci Marmont is no longer crafted in Velvet
